HOW WE STARTED…       

The Emerald City Kings Ball is a celebration of all Drag Kings and Beings that began as a conversation between our two founders, Faberg’ee Greg and Sherwood Ryder, in a backstage green room in 2021. In that moment, the Emerald City Kings Ball was born. November 25-26, 2022, we held our two-night showcase the Factory Luxe at the Ranier Brewery in Seattle, WA.

After we wrapped up, we knew this movement needed something bigger, so we decided to turn this showcase into a three-day Festival and invited Kings and Beings from all over to showcase their art. Our Inaugural Festival took place from September 15-17, 2023, and sold out all three days! Our second Festival was from September 19-21, 2024, and also completely sold out! Our demand had now outgrown the Skylark in West Seattle and knew we had to move to a bigger venue in 2025…

…so, our third international Festival will be September 25-27, 2025, at the historic Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute!
